A couple weeks back I finally completed my mods and readied for my first smoke on the Deluxe Brinkman smoker I picked up for $10 at a swap meet. First I added a mesh Grate with rolled edges to fit, raise up, and to keep the coals from smothering.
Next I added a vent for the top to aid flow and allow better heat control. I started a lump coal fire and added some chicken legs. I hit the legs with some home made rub and used apple wood in the smoke.
When the legs were pulled and foiled I put some butternut squash and towards the end added some garlic bread. I pulled the squash and added buter, salt, and CBP to taste and had a wonderful meal.
Thanks for coming along for the first smoke.
