A couple of people requested that I post a recipe for this. Its very easy to make and one of my favorite dishes.
The goods
Grilled ribeye steak (you could use any cut of steak)
Kosher salt
Cracked black pepper
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar reduction (slowly reduce balsamic vinegar in a sauce pan until reduced by half. it will thicken slightly upon cooling) or you can just buy a bottle of balsamic glaze sold at kroger, meijer, etc..
Fresh chopped parsley (optional for color)
French fries (fresh or frozen) i prefer shoestring size
Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
The setup
About an hour before you are going to eat, take the steaks out and season with kosher salt, pepper, and brush with olive oil. Cover them with plastic wrap and let them warm up on the counter.
Turn on your fryer or oven for the french fries.
Light the grill and get hot.
Grill the steaks to your lilking, put on a plate and tent loosely with foil.
Fry your fries (if you are baking the fries you will want to put them in the oven before you grill the steaks. The point is you want the steak to rest for 5 minutes before you slice it so the juices wont run out)
Slice the steak into thin slices and spread around on a plate.
Top with the fries.
Drizzle with the balsamic glaze.
Sprinkle on the parmesan cheese.
Sprinkle on the parsley
Voila!
And a close up
Try it out sometime!
Thanks for looking.
