  • New Years Turkey

Happy New Year! I was having 20 guest over for a New Years day party. Toold to party on NYE. We had 1 turkey in the oven and I smoked another using Mad Hunky rub. Stuffed with apples and smoked over lump with cherry chunks. After 2 hours brushed with apple cider and brown sugar. Coolered for 1 hour. It was the best dish I've made. The flavor was fantastic. Even my wife who is not crazy about smoked food thought it was great!
Other iteams served include home made stuffing (toasted 8 loafs), fried egg plant, tomoato cucumber salad, green salad, corn, rice, three kinds of bread and home made augratin potato's.
Has anyone made apple sauce from the apples they stuffed in the bird?
    Now for the pic's.

Looks awesome, and the mad hunky rub is real good on poultry! Glad it all turned out nice. Sounds like quite a spread!

Greeny!.... Man that looks about perfect from here..... Brown Sugar & Apple Cider on the bird sounds really good, as a compliment to the rub. IMHO, great call on letting it sit for an hour or so before carving. The rest of the spread does sound wonderfull! ...

Thaks everyone. Rich that rub does a great job. I can't wait to try it again.
Bbqgoddess when i saw your post with the cherry chunks I knew that's what I had to try. I didn't try the apple sauce this time. I ate to many of them when I was fixing the rest of the meal.
