My sweet tooth took over again this evening. This is a very moist cake.
Fresh Apple Bundt Cake
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ground allspice
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 cups chopped apple
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
Sauce:
3/4cup butter
3/4cup sugar
3 T. brown sugar
5 T. Karo syrup
2 tsp vanilla
Mix all cake ingredients together and spoon into greased bundt cake pan (mixture will be fairly dry). Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hr and 10 minutes. Cake is done
when a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven and poke holes in top. Place sauce ingredients in small saucepan and bring just to a boil. Spoon sauce over top of hot cake and let cool in pan for ½ hour. Invert on cooling rack. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cake is best when chilled.
