  • Got a new toy...

Went shopping yesterday and finally got what I really needed. A vac packer. This thing is amazing, I don't know how I lived without this. I just love this thing...

Just remember to vacuum pack all your clothes, just in case it rains!....

They are amazing tools & when you get tired of paying big time $ for the foodsaver brand bags, let me know & I will direct you to a place that sells bags really cheap & work great.

    Nice purchase!

Fortunately I bought a Black N Decker many years back, I think for about 50.00 which does the job; suck out the air and seal it. They are priceless when you can buy wholesale and freeze. I buy turkey breast (the whole piece), slice it up, V-pack and freeze. Then when you thaw it out, it loses a lot of the salt and extra moisture frankly making it much better IMO.

I wish mine had a setting for wetter contents like I think yours has but I'll keep with the 50.00 model till it dies.

            They are a must have.

Thanks for the info Bill. I've been meaning to ask you, how do you like your Stumps smoker. I've read a lot about them but I don't know anybody that smokes with them...

                      Zeeker,
Congrat's on your food saver, and Fishawn - thanks for the link.

Z - be sure and read the manual that comes with it. We use ours to also re-seal potato chip bags, ceral bags, grated cheese and jerky that doesn't have the zip lock on them, etc. I'm sure there are some things it won't work on, but there are a lot more uses than just shrinking meat.

Nice machine there Zeek. What's really nice about them and owning a big smoker like you have, you can smoke a butt-load of food and keep it and not have to fire up the smoker every weekend.

I have had one for years but there is a downside to owning one...I now have three full freezers!

Zeeker, looks like a good one. I am still using a straw and what I have left of my lungs to draw air out of zip locs and closing them fast.

now that you showed us tell us..lol
