  • Cabela's Meat Grinder

I got the 1 1/2HP unit about 2 to 3 weeks ago and finally got the opportunity to try it out this morning. Meijers has chuck roast on sale so I proceeded to purchase about 25# and ground them for burgers. This machine walked through those chuckies like they were butter. Really pleased with the performance of this unit.

Cabelas is saying 700.00 for the 1.5 hp. Damn the one I got before Christmas that was 100.00 for 50.00 works great for me & Louie.

I bought mine on sale for 550. a few years back. We are partners with my sis and the inlaws, so it aint to bad. had to buy a good one doing around 1000+ #s total a year. I tore the guts out of the cheap one I had just grinding my share of meat. Your right though it is damned expensive stuff.

steve, they were on sale for 499 just before xmas, if you call and order and talk to the product specialist. tell them you seen on a forum on the internet where they still honored that price. i am not sure if it will still work but they entered the code for the for sale price and it took. thats how i did mine. now i amd not sure if being i have a cabelas visa card makes a difference or not but worth a try. have seen some others tried the same thing after i did and they also got there grinders.

88 you are right, those small grinders do work well. however they are not built to handle the workload some of us may have, when your grinding a couple hundrd lbs minimum and all at one shot the smaller grinders will probly not hold up very long. for the casual user who wants to make some smaller batches of sausage or just grind some chuck for burger absolutley they will work fine.

all i can say is that cabelas 1.5 hp model, you may as well write it up in the will, because it is going to still be there. the others, well are more like any other kitchen appliance. just my opinion.

Call and ask to speak to a product specialist and ask a few questions about the unit and then mention that you have seen where some folks have purchased the unit for $499.00. Worked for me.

The 1.5HP is a beast. I love mine. Dont do enough meat to justify buying it, but I still love it.
