  • I HAD to buy this

Saw this in an antique store and had to get it.

Put the can there as a size reference

    After bleaching, sanding and oiling

The sticker price was 350, talked her down to 300.
The block is 6 inches thick. With a 10" skirt around it, Knife block and towell rack. Top measures 24X36
Any wood experts know the varieties used here? I'm guessing Walnut is one of em.

I would have to say you have gotten the steal deal of the year. that is just awesome.
as far as what type of wood. only the maker would know, I would guess maple is in there some where as is oak.
Don't know but looks like three types of wood from the pic.

Whisky Fish, question Bud. What's a puppy like that weigh and I think you'll need Kyote to fill that knife tray up.

Most around here are made of maple. I don't recognize any of the wood in this one. however the light coloured striped wood looks like Grape fruit wood.

I go 225 at 5'11" and not too many fatties at the belt line. With the legs removed I was able to carry it to the truck. But I had to wipe my brow and light a smoke to recover.
Don't know for sure, but I don't think I could even buy the wood for $300 let alone assemble it.
Oh yeah and I already posted my desire for that Forschner meat cleaver with that slot in the knife block. Not sure I wanna whack that thing on the block though
