  • Dawn's Smoked Almonds

I gave this a try a couple of weeks ago. I used Dawn's instructions:

    http://www.smoked-meat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=225

Here they are soaking. One in salt and one in salt and brown sugar (couldn't even tell a difference later).

I smoked them for about 4 hours in the electric Brinkman. Then I coated them with some maple syrup and back on the smoker for a few minutes.

They turned out good for my first attempt but were a little too salty for me. So next time I will experiment a little more and maybe do some Wutang style with honey and brown sugar.

    Thanks for checking my almonds.
    Becky

They look good. If they are a little too salty-I would just have a couple more beers.

              almonds

I did a batch on my last smoke and used brown sugar ,molasses and butter to coat them.
taste fantastic but i used a lil bit to much butter and some wont harden . That's ok cause it's like a soft butter toffee or caramel.
