New Toy

I've been on the lookout for a Waring Pro FS 800 slicer after the good reviews I've seen on here. I missed out on one on the Ebay for $123 earlier this year. Got a "rarely used and in perfect working order" one today for $66. Hope it arrives in time for my corned beef and pastrami slicing needs. Also hope I didn't bid against anyone here on it (well not so much)

After using a plastic one like yours for many years, I got the FS150. Like night and day. Just remember if the tray isn't sliding very good on that metal rod, Chapstick works extremely well.

Here's a few pics of the slicer. Pretty pleased with it. Not a $10 Hobart, but still a pretty good deal. Took it all apart, except the motor compartment, cleaned and relubed it. Little silicone on the rod, and it slides nicely. Anxious to test drive it.

Great score on the slicer. My dad has a "beast" that I may try and trade him out of.. If I do, I'll post picts. Don't know what kind it is, but it is a big o'l brute with a sharpening stone.

Been trying to buy a FS800 for months...They dont make it anymore...replaced it with the lesser FS150...If I cant find an 800 soon then I will have to settle for less or find a different brand...and probably pay more...............

A friend of mine ended up with a Univex 12" a rolled edge stainless corner counter with a sink 9' and a straight 8' counter for 200$ I got the stainless so he ended up with a 12" Univex with a self sharpener 1/3 h.p for 50$ I think we both got a screaming deal
