I thought the "Beast" (just my name for it after looking at the pictures) was so cool, I had to share.

I've been talking smoking for over a year now with my bro, and told him to pull my dad's old vertical with two offsets outta the scrap pile and use it. Well, I've also been talking to my dad, and he decided to pull it out and must have got there first!

Anyway, by brother build this out of 26" ~ 3/8th side wall pipe for the vertical, and a 16" x 1/4 x 3' fire box. Right now it stands just over 9', but the plans are to plant it in the ground at his house after he is done fine tuning it.

He did a test run on it Saturday, getting ready for Easter, by doing a duck, a chicken, a pork loin, and a rolled beef roast. I think he had some heat issues, but it went damn good for his first time, first run, first SMOKER!!

Enjoy!

OH! That is a beastly smoker :thumb:

I was wondering how you would get to the top grates until you said he plans on planting it in the ground.

Damm that is a big ass smoker. Very very cool.:thumb::thumb::thumb:
You better plant it in the ground, if it were to fall over on ya, it would squish ya.

And if it don't turn out to be a good smoker, you could always crawl inside it for use as a tornado shelter, or a bomb shelter :bounce:

Make sure to send us updates when its planted, and is he going to paint it?

Tell him great job, it looks fantastic.

SQUISH - Yeah, he's being really careful with it until it can be made permanent.

Painting - He's married - hell yeah he's going to have to paint it!

Thanks for checking it out, and for the comments. I copied the thread and sent it to him letting him know what he had to do to join (hint, hint).

Damn good job, big brother!

Very cool...9' tall, he'll have to fire up the front end loader to check the butts on the top grate until he gets it buried! :thumb: :hail: :banana_smiley:

When you were telling me about that on Saturday, I didn't quite get it in my head. Now it's clear.:thumb: Jut tell him when he joins here, even though he's a bean farmer, that he shouldn't call himself "Beaner".:nana2:

Nice looking shop there. Got the old International looking good. If I ever get another piece of pipe, I am gonna break the rules on welding and strike up an arc again.
