Have not smoked anything is a while so I thought I would post my makeshift green house. Warm weather came extra early this year to Minnesota so I thought it would be a good time to set the plants into larger containers and make a quick green house.
Started with 2x12 boards, 114" long x 44" wide. Took a 1" wide wood spade bit and bored holes at a steep angle 3/4 of the way into the board along the longest of the boards towards the top. Did this on both sides. I then took 1/2" pvc, cut it at 5", and stuck them into the holes to make the hoops. Next, threw 4mil plastic over it and fastened it down with strips of 1x3. Walla, instant greenhouse. Inside most of the veggies for this year. 16 Romas, 3 Big boys, 2 Cheeries, 10 Paprika, 5 Tomatillo, 12 Jalapeno, 6 Habanero, 5 Banana, 6 Pasillo for Molle, 5 Giant Marconni, 10 Cubanelles, 8 Giant stuffed Hybrid, 8 California Bells, 10 Cayenne, 12 Long Green, 3 Buternut squash, 2 Zuchinni, 2 Pumpkin pie, 2 Dills Atlantic Giant Pumpkin, 3 Honey dew melons, 3 Watermelons, 3 pickles. More green veggies to come still.
Here is a shot of how the pvc looks as it sits inside the holes.
Hoops all up.
Another view.
Plastic over it and secured.
Veggies ready for their new home.
Total time making this, about 2 hours.
