  • Ladybug, Aphids and some sort of fly

Just wanted to post this poc cause I was surprised how well it turned out.
I was in the field/garden chopping down some remaining cover crops before I do another final till and I noticed a ladybug.
The main thing that caught my eye was it was a North American ladybug that didn't appear to have been crossed with the Asian ones, those are the orangish ones that like to live indoors during the winter.

Well I was gonna grab him/her and move to some other plants that are growing when I noticed some tiny bright green bugs, a group of aphids.
Ladybug was feasting but unfortunately those pics came out blurry and it was done by the time I got this one.
Also the fly part, there was some sort of flying bug under the top leaf that I didn't even notice until I upped the pic.

Happy Gardening everyone, good bugs and bad

*Tried to zoom the pic in further cause original size was much bigger but meh...

Nice ladybird but here's a beast that could eat it whole !
        took this pic last week:

        Actual detail level:
        head

        abdomen and legs

So how big was the spider in question ? did I catch it just before it ran off with the neighbour's cat ?

Nah, it was about 1/4 inch long.
pic was taken at night, from a distance of about an inch with flash - my sony tsc9 just rules on macro photography :-)
Love the way you can see the jointing where the legs meet the body.

I take a lot of macro pics of insects but I think this is probably the best yet !
