  • Sockeye On The Gasser Weber

Fileted this Sockeye out with the KIWI knife. Easiest fileted fish I have ever done is with this knife. ..... The fish was frozen & did not receive the greatest prep, but oh well.... Trimmed both up & kept the prime pieces for the BBQ & the other pieces are in the smoker right now..... Gave em a shot of Splenda, Garlic Salt & Johnny's (all purpose seasoning salt)..... Usually use Brown Sugar instead of Splenda & fresh Garlic through a press instead of Garlic Salt, but did not have Brown Sugar & was running low on thyme... (get it )... OK, not funny....... These slabs got about 60% done on the Weber Gas (indirect heat) then I basted them with a mixture of Real Butter, L & P Worstechire & Maple Syrup. Served up with a bag salad called Mediterainian that is fantastic & cheesy Italian bread.

    Here's the cleaned Sockey 3.5#

After the KIWI Knife did some cutting

Trimmed up & on the grill...... basted with Butter-Worstechire & Maple syrup

Plated up with a chunk of grilled Turkey sausage

Marcus, Yes Kiwi is the brand name..... I really like this knife, it has remained SUPER SHARP & I got 2 of this size & 2 which were like pairing knife size for less than $20 delivered..... And I own a nice mixed set of Wusthof & Henkel knives...... I reach for the Kiwi most of the time now.
