  • Is June 1st too early?

To have red tomatoes! My cherry tomatoes and Early girls are coloring up. Also getting some pickle cukes and straight eight cukes.

I found this stuff around the base of a tree in my front yard this morning. Looks like vomit or something. After a little googling it turns out to be slime mold growing out of the mulch. The animal tracks and depressions in the mulch are from nighttime visits by armadillos. We have a ton of them.

Oops! I accidentally put this in the pepperhead forum

    Dang! Good on ya, King.

Way too early for Colorado, but looks like you're right on time for Texas!

Sure wish I had some ripe maters, can't wait to pick one off the plant, sprinkle with a litle salt and eat it like an apple...oh man I didn't start getting the mater shakes until just now...thanks alot.

Had some similar looking mold growing near a blueberry bush and then again near some bean plants.

Indeed the hardest time of the year for me is when the first maters form on the plant...knowing that i still got weeks to wait...Grrr....

Yeah...thats where Im at right now...
Glad youre getting past that in your area...
