  • My Build

Since I have jumped ship and am new around here I figured I would post some pics of my Hybrid smoker.

These pictures show the propane setup.

This unit was designed to disassemble to easy cleaning.

I have found that the propane setup is good to use from 200 up and I replace the burner with a electric element controlled with a PID controller for lower temp sausage and such.

Most of the unit was built using recycled parts, just the way I am. I did have to buy the board for the front because I did not think old barnwood and stainless looked good together.

The cold smoker is made from a drive shaft from a chevy venture van.($0)

Burner is from a outdoor grill.($0)

The insulated box was obtained at a local fast food place.($0)

I am making another one for my oldest boy (if he wants to help out) I will make sure I post that build as well.

            Thanks all

Sorry about the large image size , I just resized them to medium.

I thought I resized them when I uploaded them.

I will search around for the Electric/PID setup later today.

                            My build

Thanks for all the compliments, It has been well used in my new hobby. I built it over a year ago, but was wandering around another forum at the time.

Since joining here I figured I would show it around here.

As I understand, it was used as a "reach through" holding cabinet for buns at a local fast food restaurant. It never had a heater but is well insulated.

When I got it it did not have the doors, so I glued and screwed a back on it, sealed it with silicone, and glued and screwed some hinges on and fit a door. The door seal is fabricated from a discarded pop machine.

I designed it to completely disassemble for easy cleaning or moving. The gas burner is easily replaced with a 1500 watt electric element.

This cabinet is Stainless, I am building another that is aluminum for my son.
