  • Grilled Marlin Steaks

The local grocery store had some extremely fresh marlin steaks that I couldn't pass up.

this was so good that I thought I might share.

I deliberated a bit and decided to do a Japanese style marinade and dipping sauce. the sauce consisted of Tamari soy sauce, Mirin, grated ginger, grated Thai peppers, grated garlic and sugar...oh yeah, and abundant quantities of dark sesame oil. I saved out some of the marinade for dipping sauce.

To go with it, we had some left over stuffed sweet red peppers and we made some Thai style carrot and cucumber salad.

    Here ya go

    In the marinade

    On the grill

    Once turned

    On the plate

    Thanx for looking.

    Hope you enjoyed.

Kinda like a cross between Ahi and Swordfish. Real coarse grain like tuna.

                        beautiful !

along with swordfish anf fresh tune, marlin is one of my favourite fish.
closer to fillet steak than fish.

Pushed the boat out and did some fresh tuna loin last week, very similiar marinade to your. Also with toasted seasame oil.
So I know how good that marlin tasted

My only prollem with shark is that you never really know what kind of shark you are getting and some are just downright tough.
