Maverick's ET-73???

Been looking everywhere but can't seem to find anyone who has them in stock? Are they discontinuing them?

This is for my neighbor for whom I made a UDS last week. Anyone know where I can get one without paying 70 bucks? Yeah, I did see one for 70 bucks. Or, is there another model I should take a look at? One with a probe for the smoker and one for the meat? Thanks guys.

I picked one up last week at an outlet mall near me for $40. They had quite a few there. I hope to head back to that area some time the week of July 25th. If they have any left, I could pick one up for you if you want.

If you can't find one, check out the stoker from Rock's BBQ...it isn't wireless, but you can hook it into your home ethernet and download a computer program to capture the data...oh, and it will then email temperature updates to your cell phone. Last time I checked, Verizon had a much bigger range than an ET-73! They are super cool, and one is on my wish list if for nothing else, a new toy to goof around with.

Actually, with the right browser, you can completely control the Stoker from anywhere you have a cellular signal. The stoker has it's own IP address, so all you need is a router and a computer.
Haven't looked at one in a long time, but I believe the Guru has the same capabilities now also.
The other cool thing about the Stoker is that you can control an unlimited number of smokers from one Stoker unit.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I think we found one. Like I said, this is for my neighbor. He is not electrical or internet savvy at all so a basic therm is perfect for him. As far as that stoker, my god man, I think I need a 4 year degree to run that LOL.

Dana, that thing don't like much fun. I mean, on a nice brisk winter day in January down there in Kansas, you really want to monitor your smoker from the comfort of your desk chair when you can bundle up and walk outside, brush the snow off and take a peek? Your getting soft on me LOL.

I actually did look into both the Guru and the stoker some time ago. I still haven't even gotten my damm fridge conversion done. And now I'm thinking of building my own UDS.

Yeah the Stoker is cool!!

I would love to have one for my UDS. Not that it really needs it but it would be fun to play with. Just can't figure out a way to convince Mrs. DDave that I need a $250 toy -- $280 with a food probe. It would be cool though.

I did see one on ebay once. But it went for almost the price of a new one.
