Just really started noticing this bad boy along garden edge....It has had a void in bottom 3 feet like a hollowed circle for years and i figured matter of time....
Good size at base,but i know that is hollow...She holds good size till bout 20 foot with nice limbs....Well over 40 foot.
I use it more for firewood,but white oak is a fine smoking wood...I hope to get some carvable,turnable pieces from top....I do believe "old Ironsides" sides were made of white oak....Fine wood....
If i cut it now she would drop on some of my jack-o-lanterns ....Should dry out a bit and make great deadfall when i cut her down in spring(hopefully)...Maybe chainsaw her up in late fall....
