  • Sourdough - Did I ever tell you ...

    about this recipe that I call Bassman#1 Jalapeno Chedar bread??

    I'll have to chaulk this up to a slow smoke day..
    Mixed up a batch of BM#1 and had to do the Jap and Cheddar thingy.

    Proofed once before adding the Japs, Cheddar, garlic salt and jap salt because at 5:00 this morning, I couldn't find the Japs in the garden!



    Egg washed with a little smoked jap salt...



    Second proof



    Outta the oven


    This plus a couple a cackle berries will be my breakfast!

                Really Nice Tracey! I know that it's got some sizzle with Bassman's Jap salt. That stuff rocks!

                      dayum.... that has to be some good stuff bro... Fish sent me a lil sample a that salt so i know thats gotta have a good flavor!!!

                        Very good - just like regular "toast". I was a bit apprehensive the first loaf I made thinking either the cheese or the peppers would burn/scorch - they don't. These make killer grilled cheese sammies on the griddle, and go great with eggs in the toaster.

                        Thanks E - yes, the Jap Salt is good. I have two kinds now - Garlic, which I use in the dough, Smoked which I shake on top... of bread and everything else!
