  • Sterilizing An Injector Needle

A thought crossed my foggy little brain this morning..... To sterilize my Stainless Steel injector needle, I have always just boiled it on the stove for a couple minutes in a pot with water..... I have not had any problems & this makes sense to me.... Just curious if there is a different or better way to sterilize these things....

In the comps we use about a cup of water and a capfull of bleach and pull in and squirt out 4-5 times and then do the same with fresh water in a prewashed injector.

I do this, but also use some hot water to break up any fat that got in there too. Otherwise, Lee nailed this one!

You mean the Beam that I use in my injecting sauce don't do the trick?

Thanx for bringing this up! Never crossed my mind. Always just ran hot water through it and then in the dishwater with everything else. Since injected meat will usually sit in the fridge for hours, and sometimes days, this is majorly important! Oops.... I'll have to make a note to self to give you points tomorrow. Out of points.

I was going to start a new thread asking this same question but decided to try a search first.

And, lo and behold, already answered.
