  • Foodsaver Rolls

We talked about this before I bought the toy,, now point me in the direction of where you buy your rolls!!

I need to get some more rolls to cut bags for my next sausage experiment...

I looked at ebay, 150' of 11 in for around 61.00 after shipping. Not what i would call cheap but if that is the best deal for good bags I am in..

Sams is as cheap as you get for the food saver brand. I have never used other brands so I can't vouch for the quality.

I use a pretty large number of them, so I get mine from here:

If that's too many you could split them with someone too.

Are these the same thickness and quality as the Foodsaver bags? If they are that is a great buy.

i buy them on ebay--i use mainly 8 inch wide--these non food saver ones work fine. ive used hundreds of feet of it.

                http://cgi.ebay.com/FOOD-SAVER-TYPE-...3286.m20.l1116

just under .37 cents a foot delivered. and i cut each bag to size which is usually less than a foot long

i'm always open for a better way to save :)

Guess I missed this before- sorry! ....they're 3.5 millimeters which is what I think foodsaver is too- or foodsaver might be 3? They're clear plastic on one side and foggy plastic on the other which is where food saver puts their little diamond pattern. You need one or the other to be able to suck the air out with these kind of sealers. Uline (I think it was) sent me a sample of pure clears to try and the air won't suck out, although they will seal still.
I like these bags too because they don't have "foodsaver" written on them so it looks a bit more professional when you put your own label on them if that's a consideration.

They have specials that come and go that sometimes are pretty good. It keeps you coming back to their site I suppose.

I buy a brand called simply smart, resonable price an very good quality.

The quart bags average me 32 cents apiece, less ifin I catch a sale. The have pints, quarts, gallons, 8 inch rolls an 11 inch rolls.

I use a bunch of em an am very happy with em.

I get my Food Saver rolls at Walmart. I double up as I get bags of Royal Oak at the same time. Did a run today as a matter of fact.

Got a funny and accuarte comment from the checkout lady when I pulled up. She said, "Now, here's someone who knows what real charcoal is." She saw me digging out some bags. As I picked one up, lump spilled all over the floor. She said people keep tearing them open to see what is in them since they are so lite compared to biquettes.

I've been very pleased with them as well. Darn thick, and the price is right.

Only had one issue with them. I made some beans ahead of time for a friend's party. Did not suck all the air out. Just clogged passageways up I think. They were only frozen for a week, so it wasn't a big deal. All the meats I've put in them they worked great though.

Seems that since I posted this the gentleman and his wife have semi-retired. The site has changed some, and the bags I was getting aren't available anymore. They do still have some bags and rolls on the site, but it's in bigger quantities now. He told me that who knows what the future will bring though.

To get the bags I wanted (the gallon 11x16), he told me to try a friend of his at www.vacnsac.com/index.php?crn=235
Looks like the site is still coming up to speed in some categories, and now since it's in TX where I live I have to pay stupid taxes of 8.25%, but it's still a pretty good price. For 600 of them, after tax and shipping, it comes to 37.24 cents/bag. 200 of them would have come to 41.64 cents per bag. They also have them in quantities of 100, but I didn't figure out the costs for that amount. Looks like the rolls are not bad price either although a couple are out of stock at the moment.
