      that is a good price.

With that said I prefer the 18.5" to the 22.5", the smaller one is better on fuel, & temp control imho. When I tested out a 22.5" last summer I liked it, but it was too big for my needs so I didnt buy it.
Just because you welded some shit together doesnt make it a WSM.

Really? I am considering one, so you like the smaller one more? Interesting.

I do, Used the big one for 3 months last summer, liked the capacity, but didnt like the ammount of fuel it ran through, and it ran hotter.

I can get close to 20 hours on one ring fuel on the smaller WSM(using alot less lump or Coshell), I think 12 hours was the best I ever did with the big dog.

Plus im only cooking for a handfull of people usually. It worked well for the 2 backyard type competitions I did, I brought along one of my 22.5" kettles to help out.

Cant go wrong with either, the smaller one just works for my needs.

Appreciate the tip, I just figured for another hundred I might as well go bigger. Thanks, I think you sold me.

I would like to have both, or either ..... I have heard some comments about some racks of ribs not being able to fit on the 18.5" laying flat..... Anyone have any comments on this .... The 22.5" seems HUGE & as noted a little more fuel needy, but they look sweet..... I also see the 18.5" cookers on CL from time to time & rarely see the 22.5"..... That seems like a pretty good price... I did see a thread on another site where HD & Lowes were matching an advertised price @ Sears for (I think it was) $319

the spares and bb's I do fit without cutting, rolling, etc. at the beginning of a cook you just have to curve them to follow the shape of the cooker, thick bone cut towards the outside of the WSM. After a few hours they shrink down. I also use a rib rack without issue.

I agree, either or both is a great thing to have, I just didnt need that big of a smoker.

That's a good price for sure on the 22.5". Although I've never used the bigger one, I have two 18.5" that I love to death.

As far as using more fuel, that's probably very true. I have two Smoke-EZ attachments I put on my 22.5 kettles, which turns them into a WSM basically. They do use more fuel than the 18.5s for sure.

I have a 22.5 and personally wouldn't want it any smaller. It's about the same size as a UDS.

                        WSM 22.5″ Smoker Dimensions:

                        •Height: 48.5 inches
                        •Width: 23 inches
                        •Depth: 24 inches
•726 square inches of cooking area

The assembled weight is 68 pounds but it breaks down easy enough.

                          I bet,

compared the the miserly 18.5" the 22.5" is a fuel hog.

What I did enjoy about the 22.5" was that I didnt have to plan rack space for a cook, never came close to filling it up.

I enjoy talking WSM's thats for sure.

Ive got the 22.5 and don't think I would like the 18 at all.the full length ribs just fit on the 22.5 and i can do 6 at a time without a problem ,Ive done up to 6 butts at a time.I cant compare the fuel cause Ive never cooked on the 18 .but I can say from years of experience on everything I;ve ever skimped on I've always kicked my self in the ass and wished for bigger later
Actually I prolly wouldnt mind having both
