  • Preserving Forum?

With the harvest season upon us does anyone see any value in a canning/preserving forum? Just a thought.

I think most times I've seen anything canned, it fell under the "Everything Gardening" section. I wouldn't mind a canning section though, maybe a sub forum in that section?

I think we've got at least two pros in that category. Seems like Irish Chef and Moselle have some serious chops in that area. I'm for it.

My wife (TATONKA3A2) does quite a bit of canning, I think she would enjoy learning more and could possibly contribute some to a canning forum.

I'd love to get some input on the subject. That is something I've been wanting to learn more about.

Yes, I would love to see it also..... I just got 6.5 dozen Ball-Kerr-Atlas jars off CL for $10.... ..... I used to can a lot of Salmon & Steelhead, but want to get into the vegetables this year if anything starts growing..... Also want to try dehydrating them ..... Good idea & I think it would be a good addition..... NO KIDDING, as I was typing this my dad called & he was at a garage sale & a lady was selling wide mouth Kerr quarts brand new in the boxes for $3 a dozen I told him to buy them all

I need to learn more about it. There seems to be enough experience within our membership to keep the recipe, techniques and advice safe and sound.

I do quite a bit of canning myself...might be nice for folks looking to make pickles, etc. to have a separate forum. If it's not a big deal with bandwidth or any other issues, I'd be all for it myself.

Might have to go under the Advanced Methods & Techniques as there are definite hazards to canning.
I'd like to learn more. Someday I might grow enough tomatoes to can.
