  • DO Pot Roast

Was one of those cold, windy, nasty days. Wanted something different so out came the "ol' Black Pot. This Pot Roast was simple and tasty. Sure filled the "spot" on a nasty day.
( I know this isn't "Smoking" but had to share. I know other's have Black Pots.)

Looks good Tim. I don't see any carrots though. I think they ruin the pot roast myself.

Thanks Gunny, ... Those carrots are in there. (There's one showing on the right side of the DO)

I see it now. Just the way my Mom made it, and exactly the way I wouldn't eat it. Unless it was smothered in Cookies BBQ sauce. Most Iowans should know about Cookies.
Still looks really good. I just don't like the flavor that cooked carrots impart. But they sure are good raw dipped in honey peanut butter.

Love a good pot roast, smoked or not. Sorry gunny; I like all the veggies in the pot. Taters, Carrots, onion, wedges of cabbage and shrooms. Looks like a nice comforting dish on a lousy day. And if there are any leftovers you can make a nice stew out it the next day.
