  • 'Nother slicer

Found this one day last week, the lady got a new one and wanted this one gone. I told her I could arrange for that to happen. It's pretty old but works fine. Needs some TLC and the blade has a few nicks but nothing I can't handle. Needs a good cleaning also. I hafta build a roll around table to mount it on because it weighs around 100 lbs. At least it feels like it does. I've been wanting one for awhile but couldn't justify the price of a slicer like this.

Thanks guys, it's been awhile since I've had something like this fall in my lap ( a long while ) so maybe it was just my turn. Funny how it works out sometimes, I was just thinking about trying to find a Hobart the day before.

that looks like a model 1612... If so I have the same one, and I also scored mine for free!!! :) I used to drive for Sysco foods, and was delivering to a northern hospital, I seen it sitting on the loading dock and asked the reciever what they were doing with it... well, the health board said it is too dangerous to clean, too hard to clean,,,etc and told the hosipital to replace it with a new one. Kitchen manager said to put it in the back of truck and take it... :) I LOVE THOSE DEALS
Good For ya.. is'nt it nice when something like that happens
personaly I find that they are easier to clean then the new ones,, and gaurantee ya, it will still be running while a new one probably only has 10 years

You called it right Butcher, it is a 1612. It was getting a little dangerous for them to use as the blade guard mount was worn some and the guard would rub the blade if you didn't install it just right. The woman was afraid someone would cut themself so she talked her supervisor into a new one. I can fix the guard problem and either resharpen the blade or replace it. I have access to a machine shop and several welders if I need it.

Does anyone know where I might find an owners manual for a 1612? No luck yet searching the net.

                              .
I pulled all the guards off my slicer. Damned things anyway.
