Fricken FoodSaver ..... Picked a bad time to quit on me..... Any Suggestions?

Getting ready to vacuum pack about 10-11 pounds of pulled pork & my FoodSaver will not seal.... It will vacuum, but will not switch to the seal mode automatically like it's supposed to..... Any suggestions before I throw it out? .... Anyone see any good deals on them lately?

you don't have a manual seal button? Not like it matters...but...

Fish, I may be wrong on this, but I think on my model, if my button is switched to accessory mode, it still sucks but doesn't seal. Maybe check that out?

Otherwise, ebay always seems to have some good deals.

Probably already tried this... but both me and Bassman have had the same issue and it turned out to be just the bag with a pinhole in it.

No idea if that has been ruled out.

I am trying to make a bag from a size that I cut. It is an automatic unit & starts off with the sucking action, but will not switch to the seal stage, where it used to after about 4-5 seconds (POS )

I did try that also, no luck...... I went to the redneck vacuum sealer with a straw & a ziplock bag & sum bitch, it actually works pretty well

I feel your pain Scott.. Mine went out a few weeks ago, that's why I posted a thread on what model was a good one to buy and I have yet to replace it..

BTW... I'm still searching for that perfect sealer.. I don't mind paying 300 bones if I know it will be a good sealer..

Sorry to hear about your foodsaver going TU...if you or anyone wants a(nother) foodsaver, I got this via email yesterday. You will have to choose if you are throwing good money after bad, and if yours had lived a good life.

Costco has one on coupon too. If you have a membership I'd think about purchasing there. They have an excellent return policy. I am going to buy theirs. Sorry to hear that you had to get your neck red trying to seal the bags

ive got an old V550 that i still use along with my new one, but it does the same thing and is usually caused by a small leak in the bag or the end im trying to seal isnt laying flat and has a crease breaking the seal, if the bag is creasing on me ill insert the bag with alittle extra bag, close and lock the lid, then grab each side of the bag and pull apart and pull alittle bit of the bag out.
ive had bad pre made bags and rolls and at almost $18 for a food saver brand roll or $18 for 2 black & decker brand rolls isnt good.
the new one i got 3 yrs ago is the V3420 and i havent had any problems with it, the only thing i dont like is the amount of bag material it waists on each end.
