Well out of 14 competitors we ended up 7th. Found out the tenderness brought down our score. I think appearance didn't help either. Lol Oh well hopefully do better next year. Here are some pics

Man really squared up slabs... points... can't taste one but the Mad Hunky din't hurt... jeez..they LOOK tender enough, but yeah that box...needs to look like a putting green... Individual sprigs of the parsley tucked in. It takes at least a half hour to build a box for us. Assuming KCBS rules here...

I never understood the garnish thing....IMHO might as well put down a piece of astro turf. I'd eat a few of those ribs.

Totally agree. Is this BBQ or an effin Martha Stewart tea party. Looks good from here man. Congrats on getting a comp under your belt
I rub it every chance I get!

I agree looks great. They need to make a rule that says only meat in the box nothing else. I mean after all it's a best tasteing contest not a pretty box contest.

                      Ribs are looking good bro!!

I agree on the no garnish gig... it's a BBQ contest, not a decorating contest!

As far as presentation goes, Rich is right about the parsley. Also, you do not want to have that leaf lettuce showing at all if you are doing the parsley putting green. The ribs themselves look great, no brush marks in the sauce or anything. You will get em next time.
