So while you boys and girls were smokin and grillin this is how I spent my day.
VFW Post at 0700 getting ready for 5 wreath laying ceremonies.
Finished those by 0930 and we all went to a breakfast sponsered by one of the local churches.
Up to the old high school to ready for the parade that started at 1030.
After the ceremonies back to the VFW for beer, dogs, kraut, mac salad and a few other goodies.
Over to the Legion for more drinks and fellowship.
No pics of the parade since I was asked to carry the State Flag.
Former Marine DI and our VFW Commander counting cadence. Came around the traffic circle onto Grant Ave, American Flag hung between the 2 VFD's ladder trucks, people filled the side walks back to the business fronts, clapping and cheering...Made me damn proud.
Here's a few pics from before the parade.
