Not trying to point fingers at all Jimmy. You do a great job on your posts. I know its a close neighborhood feel, and i think thats great. I have asked a lot of non cooking or smoking related questions through the years and i appreciate all replies and help. My point is, since this is a smoking n cooking site, more posts related to smoking n cooking.

Wasn't trying to insinuate that in the least, no ball breaking meant by it.

Actually I agree that there are a lot more posts that aren't smoked than ones that are, and if you count weed smoked posts to meat smoked posts even less...then if you count gay meat smoked posts to actual meat smoked posts even fewer, but besides the occasional joke post from Phil and a few select others we don't usually see that form of "smoking meat"...

Noticed I don't see you post quite as often lately man, and guess I'm sort of the complete opposite, I like to post things sometimes that are complete fudge around things and such, when it s somewhat appropriate.

I would never go the way of Big D and post things up like he did (you that were around back then know exactly what I mean) but more than a cooking and smoking site I love the fact that this is a place where we can post about most anything, break balls, have fun, get wayyyyy off topic and not have the stupid restrictions and "notsee" rules like they had back on Smurf.

Sheet, I love also that Ken and Rich will many times even get deep, down and dirty into the whacked out topics that get brought up on here, love it, love it, love it

I know the feeling. It can be frustrating when a forum has more traffic that is not forum specific. I like to think of those threads as being sides. It does keep post traffic up and it invites participation.

I am an administrator on a small, invite only firearms forum. I welcome the "other than firearms" threads as it is what keeps the chatter going. But, when running a forum as a business venture, I understand the need to keep on topic for advertising sales.

It does help to retain the members who know what they are doing and are willing to help 'newbies' if the powers that be can reign in the dipshats that belittle and mock other posters. Those members might be active and drive up post and thread counts, but they can harm a forum more than help by making it undesirable for potential posters to be active and start new threads.

Another thing I love about this site, that they do not allow things like that to go on and are very quick to correct any form of misinformation when it comes to cooking, curing and other food related safety.

Sure, food related safety is always a concern just like firearms safety is always #1. Driving safely is another one. But, it happens here plenty of times where an active member makes other members (especially newer members) feel uncomfortable and attacked. This results in the newer member not wanting to post anything.

good of you to point that out Scott! and i thought it was just me imagination. Even with the increased membership there seems less smoking or cooking related posts(i call them "quality" posts)...

i know i skip over alot of threads just because they aint what the forum is about or meant to be. seems ya gotta "hunt" for the quality post... and that said, myself i just have not been doing the cooking like in the past. kinda in a rut so i am just as guilty as anyone for not putting up me share...
