I have to agree, But what I thoght was ineresting was all the comments about these recipes by folks from texas. and wt the folks said that were from up north. nothing bad, just funny stuff to me.
and even though most these recipes are oven / grill cooked. it can be bumped up and thrown on the smoker with great results.

I took an oven recipe the other day and made it work on the smoker. took a bunch of sweet basil from the garden, lots of garlic salt pepper and EVOO and made a sort of paste pounded the chicken tits to 1/2 in thick put it al;l in a zip lox and afetr several hours putr them on the smoker till they looked good. checked with my nano second fast thermo en abnd put on wild rice and a fresh garden salad with cern on de cob with garlicbutter lime cayenne sauce. was good. no left overs fer some reason.

Cracks me up when folks start preaching about how the way they do it is the only way and all others are dumb. I know that if I made the mother of all ribs my wife is going to want to put sauce on them regardless. I seared and grilled four NY strips last night. Super juicy and full of flavor. She practically coated hers in A1. I don't get all bent out of shape nor try to convince her to change the way she enjoys her food. Nor would I do this with anyone else.

BBQ means something different depending on where ya are. Get over it. I spent time in south america in my youth. Most of it in Brazil. Almost all of the meat I ate there was rubbed with a slightly spicy/allspice rub and grilled/smoked in a chiminea . Wood fired broil kind of thing but with plenty of smoke. Kind of middle ground between hot and fast vs low and slow. It was very good.

I grew up in south america, used to have a ton of great meat recipes from Brazil and argentina. wish I could find them, I know there are here hidden well.lol. IT used to piss me off when folks told me how to eat what I was eating (the way it is said to you) instead of hey! try this crap it is good chit mon. thats differnt will give it a shot. I stopped telling the kids years ago how to eat .the baby, well she puts ketchup on just about everything and loves it.
