  • I would also like to request prayers and thoughts

My BIL was life flighted to Iowa City University Hospitals yesterday for burns to over 60 % of his body. He was burnt so bad, they had to put his I.V. in his foot. Today, they drilled hole into his leg for a better I.V. location. They also had to wire the tube in his throat, becasue if it fell out, they wouldnt get it back in. He inhaled the fire.......His face is so puffed up, they have NO idea of the shape his eyes are in. They had to lower his pain medication, because they can't keep his blood pressure up.

He was werking on his dryer, trying to fix a squeal, with silicon spray, and summin ingnited. Details on the cause are sketchy atm.

Thankx for the prayer and thoughts.

Dang man, that's bad. Had a friend that got burned pretty bad using spray glue to put some carpet down and something ignited it. Scary stuff. Hope your BIL pulls through. In the mean time prayers headed his way.

                  Steve, prayers sent.

My cousin had a similar run in years ago. It's a long, tough road and things will be changed forever. Not trying to bring this down but just wanted to pass that along as he's going to need A LOT of support from friends and family for quite sometime.

                          Update

they took the tube out, and he is abit more coherent, and they got his BP stabilized.

Yeah, he has a LONG row to hoe. Just imagining scrubbing the skin off, puckers my behind................

I just hope he isn't blind, but he will have respiratory prlblems the rest of his life, i imagine.

bottom of the hour, wife will get to do into intensive care and see him for the first time. don't envy her that visit.

will add more as i get it.

Woah got the lungs too? Arrgh.

I had half my back peeled a long time ago. I can still remember that pain. Wish him the best personally from a guy who has been there.
