  • A couple of new things ... for me with G-View

Not a lot of room for gardens here. One raised bed with red peppers and Banana Cantaloupe (first year). So trying out the upside down planters. 2 commercial (not the topsy turvy) and three homemade (off some link someone suggested on here) and a big steel pot. Tomatoes in the 2 commercial and japs, sweet banana peppers, and anaheim in the homemade. Have habs, serranos, cayenne, and others in a couple of other planters I stole from flower planting. All seem to be doing well. Blossoms and some pepper buds coming through ... we'lll see how it progresses. All peppers were from seeds.

Notice the upside down 3 liter bottle. I did not melt the bottle neck and it works just fine. Dirt doesn't fall out and water drains ok.

These have the melted and pushed in necks.

    Can't forget my helper. Shadow.

    Thanks for looking!!

Is that a 2L pop bottle?
How'd you get the darn plant through that? Via the cap? If so, that must have been a chore.

Also, is that one a HUGE steel kettle?

That could be cleaned up to make a nice booya kettle, or crawdaddy boil kettle.

If you would have asked me a year ago about putting a veggie plant in the bottom of a hanging basket and it would work... I would have told you, you lost your mind... Now these things are every where...

Your plants look good and healthy Dan...

Way cool, keep us posted. I just know I'm going to be kicking myself for not reaching out and doing that myself.

          Great dog.

3 liter bottle. And yes, cut a hole in the cap, left a little edge and pushed the leaves and stem through ... they were much smaller then.

My dad didn't know what he had and cut holes in the bottom for drainage. After a few choice words from me (yeah, right), I took it and now use it as a planter.

Very nice. My Mom did the upside-down hanging plants about 6 or 7 years ago, when she lived in a rented house. Worked very well. Now I have gotten her a place next to us, and she has all the room she needs for flower and veggie gardens.

              Nothing a welder couldn't fix.
