  • Fried Red Towmaters

I know down south they like their fried green tomatoes, but I love taking a nice red mater, breading it, and frying it...Love!! Made some up while on vacation down the shore (New Jersey).

Served them with a parmesan peppercorn dressing...yummy!!

You have to make sure you cut them thick enough so they don't get mushy.

                  Hmmmm...
Don't dig the fried green ones myself but intrigued by the fried red maters.
Had always wondered how they would turn out using ripe ones and they look like they were great, not to mention Jersey fresh tomatoes for that and for the new idea to try

Nope, never been there but any place that uses local produce when in season I'm down for trying.
