  • 200 Knives

I am looking to buy some high quality knives. I am tired of the drawer full of 200 knives that I don't or won't use. I am looking for some input. I do not need a 40 knife set or a set that cost $1000. I am looking for 3 maybe 4 high quality knives for everyday use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't want to break the bank but want good chef quality knives you can't go past mundial knives in my opinion, I've had mine for years and they hold a good edge

Wustoff, ot Heinkels have served me well. Cutco... alot in commercial use, softer steel need more attention... but fine by me. As important as the steel is the grip.

I bet DCarch has some input. After all with the carving and hacking that thier knives go thru

The knife I used here is a $30 used Cutco from A guy that sharpens local resto knives.

Yea rich wustoff knives are awsum I've got a nice carving knife.
Mundeal are pretty similar but made in Spain not Germany from the same steel, they would be half the price I recon but I can't tell any real difference

Yeah...but a carbon blade is 6 swipes away from razor. I wonder... PITA sharpning..or a few swipes more often. Plus..I just LIKE running a blade down a stone or steel.

You are correct...Most folks do not know how to sharpen a device...A sharpening system is a must!

Here is a link for a nice set for a really good price. Mesermeister. Good quality.

Scroll all the way to the bottom for the set. Less than a hundred bucks for quality German made 3 knife set. Should cover most things.

We have had a set of these for years and they have held up for everything. Make sure you have a good knife steel for sharpening; when used consistently, they keep your knives in good shape.
