  • More beans!

I'm whipping up a batch of beans for my neighbor's family reunion this weekend. Cooking them up slowly in the crock pot since I don't have time to run the smoker on these.

4 large cans Bush's beans, spoon off as much juice as possible.
Mix up a batch of bbq sauce; ketchup, vinegar, garlic, onion, mustard, brown sugar, NM chile powder, ancho chile powder, guajillo chile, chile arbol, cumin and pepper. If you like it spicy, I do, add a good dose of home made chipotle powder also.
While you are doing this, fry up about a pound of home made hickory smoked bacon chunks.

Mix it up good when the bacon is done and cook it low and slow then enjoy!

I thought about that Rich, but I'm making these for a bunch of old folks and kids and figgered the extra bean juice would help keep me from going hog wild on the heat! So far it's working.

Nice... yeah..we make concessions for others. That's why I'm stopping by Famous Dave's BBQ for a slab of ribs for some folks that don't know the difference. Cheaper.
