  • Help with Montreal Steak seasoning

A while back I posted what I had written for Montreal Steak Seasoning and it was pointed out that I forgot something. Turns out, whatever it was I didn't like anyhow. Well I meant to put it at the bottom of the ingredients but never did. So I'll list what I have and see if anybody knows what I forgot.

    2 TBSP Paprika
    2 TBSP Kosher Salt
    2 TBSP Crushed Black Pepper
    1TBSP Granulated Garlic
    1 TBSP Granulated Onion
    1 TBSP Crushed Oriander
    1 TBSP Dill Seed
1 TBSP Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

So thats what I have written down. What did I forget?

pretty much same ingreds as the recipie given on
    http://www.chow.com/recipes/10590

except the one calls for dill, and yours calls for dill seed.

have a bottle of McCmk's montreal and looking at ingreds it also pretty much same except it includes dill seed and extactives of dill(dill weed???)

so other than that looks like the ingreds are cosistant.

Hmm, apart from the dill it looks like a pretty standard rub mix.
But adding dill will make a real difference.
Have to try this - looks very interesting. Never would have thought of using dill with meat :-)

Give it a try CA. Montreal Steak mix is good stuff. I use it all the time on beef, chicken and pork.
