  • Hey Smoked-Meat! It's The Weekend, What's Cooking?

Got a couple Flanks steaks going on the grill tonight. Not sure of a marinade or whatever yet, so I better get it in gear now eh?

What's cooking around your place this weekend?

rare friday night at home, gonna stop on the way home and pick up some steaks to grill(stips or ribeyes), etc.

Saturday, heading up to Milwaukee for the Widespread Panic show, gonna eat alot of corned beef and stop into Wolf Peach for dinner before the concert(and the mushrooms). Go Sooners.

Sunday, fixin to work my way back to my place in Illinois from Wisco., probably make some stops along the way for brats and football.

        happy its Friday.
Just because you welded some shit together doesnt make it a WSM.

Depends on weather. If it doesn't rain I'll be helping dad combine beans and windrowing hay. If it rains like its supposed to tonight I'm thinking brisket or beef ribs Sunday. Maybe turkey legs tomorrow.

Got the last of me figs to pick and I thought a porchetta on the Primo would pair nicely. Gotta behave though. School starting back next Monday and I gotta fit in to that uniform. Plus I'll be pulling double duty going day AND night classes. Lawsy, gotta behave a bit. Din't order no packages so should be able to be good gal. No promises though.

How are the beans this year? We are sneaking up on milo harvest and it's looking excellent. We are also waiting to see weather developments tonight. Forecasting hail and high winds. Could push alot of milo over; it's tall this year.

Heard you folk got some moisture this year...badly needed. Hope it all works out in the grain belt.

Record apple crop up here. Corn...meh... but good sweet stuff. Soy is good too.

Rich, we were lucky to get in on some extra rain around August 1st that was followed by 2 weeks of cooler than normal temps. Did everything a world of good. Lots of folks SW of us still waiting on their rain.

We had a little more rain but cooler temps than last year. Just talked to dad he said they're doing over 60. BIL farms 30 miles West of dad and they had a field do 73. Not many going. But the phone rang not stop today. Trucking is going from dead to chaotic next week. Corn looks real good to haven't heard any yields yet on the wet corn. Dads hoping to get alfalfa cut before the first. He won't cut in October. So hopefully it don't rain cause third got rained on and it'd be nice to get a perfect fourth.

Just did my monthly smoke couple weeks ago, pork butt, ribs, chicken and meatloaf
So not much this weekend. Maybe some sauce on the inside drums or maybe rib eyes on the kettle

CSR's aboot to be foiled: The 3 at the top are rubbed and marinaded with some jerk seasoning. I didn't learn from my Nuclear wing experience earlier in the week....
