  • -15º Showtime Rotisserie Rib-eye

So Tanya is gone for the weekend doing a vendor show, so my buddy Grissom (our Golden Retriever) and I are bachelors for the weekend!

-15º was to cold out (for me) to grill last night so I decided to try the Showtime rotisserie on a rib-eye. Tanya took the good camera with her so all I had was my phone...

The manual for the Showtime said 15 minutes for a 1 1/4" steak to be medium rare, at 15 minutes the internal meat temp was only 110º so I went 22 minutes trying for medium rare but ended up with medium done, still tasted great though! It is very difficult getting a temp probe each and every minute with a rotisserie... Next time I will try 18 minutes.

    Tatonka toast with the rib-eye.

So tonight with -40º windchill I think I will try buffalo burgers in the Showtime rotisserie...

Hehe. Nothing wrong with cooking in the kitchen when it's this nasty out. Looks edible to me. Did your buddy get the scraps? Looking forward to the buffalo burgers.

I purposely didn't look at the outdoor thermo this morning. Didn't want to know. Supposed to be worse tomorrow. Haven't had a weekend to myself, in over a month. Slept in, even finished the book I started. Didn't get out of bed until 11:00 AM. Still not dressed. Let it be cold outside...have nowhere to be. Everything I had planned can be accomplished indoors. Except the cheese I need to smoke, but that can wait until next week too. Don't mind the cold like others, but if you don't have to subject yourself to it.......stay in. Have to go to work Monday. No choice there.

I've done that with mine but used a 3 bone ribeye roast. It's not bad at all! And checking temps are a pain I agree.

Mine doesn't say, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Caliente" tho.

You think it's cold there? It got to 25f here last night, we went grocery shopping this AM, my bojangles are finally dropping back down.

Well, yesterday was the first day I wore my work jacket. Honest. Several people gave me grief for it. I was holding out for another week. Lol. With these kind of temps, you don't have much choice.

Yep, I have used mine for BB ribs, standing rib roasts, turkeys, hotdogs, and burgers. It actually works pretty well.
