Nothing. Other than it'll fit under EVERY Weber grate now that the MFG has taken care to cut them right.

      Long story short....

All webers aren't exactly @ 5" between grates

BUT most are. Had an order last week on a 26" kettle where the measurement was 4.75"

The previous batch had some people who didn't like the grate sitting directly on the Vortex or the wobble it lead to.

The latest batch which I've been painstakingly waiting on has arrived

Well. No promises due to the variations ive heard about w/ kettles. But this should significantly reduce it.

That being said, this will not effect its usage compared to the 5.2's

Guessing the "condition" of the grate supports (bending/missing, etc.) could affect the "fit" ?

The Vortex I have fits all my Weber's perfectly, with the exception of the Smokey Joe, which IMO doesn't really need one <butt wood be cool>
