my homemade smoker is a pain to regulate and is heck of a lot larger than i really need. Anywho..looking at stor bought stuff lately. I use propane for a few other projects and would probably stay with that. Any suggestions on that 2-300 dollar range? I see the biggest diff is amount of insulation in doors and sides on most of them. ANy of them i should stay away from?

Stay away from Master Forge Electric (POS).
Not sure on the propane side. I hear good things about the Smokein-It, but not laid eyes on one.Mark

I have a Smoke Vault and I can't regulate the temps. It sits around 250* but not lower so it's basically useless for low temp smoking.
Since I cant get it low for jerky or beef sticks I use it as a oven when I don't want to use the one in my house.Stumps Baby
