K... My daughter is coming home for Thanksgiving
But tonight she tells me she won't make it home until Friday morning
I put my turkey under the Mad Hunkey poultry brine today... Wed.
I believe I've read you cannot over brine with this product but what the heck do I know

Iz dis 24 lb Turkey gonna be alright floating around in dis brine fer dat long or does I knead to take drastic action?

I think I remember a couple of posts last year that had pretty much the same situation (24+ hour brines) that ended with good results

My guess is, and I may be wrong (probably am ) that is the bird can only take in so much of the brine, and as long as the salt content is not out of whack, it should be just fine

You should be fine. Perhaps give the bird a good rinse in and out. You can also suck out some of the brine and replace with clean cold water if you are concerned.

Even better rinse tomorrow and air dry in the fridge on a rack until ready to cook/smoke

                  To be honest....

As a newbie to "Mad Hunky Poultry Brine", I have done a few tests (actually three) prior to smoking up two 14 lb birds (and one in the oven for fun). I am not certain that you could "overbrine" the birds as mine will have about a 24 hr brine for tomorrow.

If in doubt, simply take the birds out of the brine and then simply keep them in the fridge. I don't think that that would cause any undo harm.

                  Mike :)

I'm not one for long brines. It can change the texture of the meat. This happy accident is a testament to the quality of Mad Hunky Poultry Brine.

Mad Hunky Poultry Brine gets my vote
