  • Time to Disco

Discada that is! This is my mega heavy discada. It's a 23" disc plow converted into a discada. I'm working on the burner and stand right now. Hope to have it up and cooking soon. The disc has three coats of flax seed on it now. The best way to finish seasoning is to cook, right?

Using a tire rim and black pipe to make a the burner assembly. I was going to use a salvaged burner I had, but the new needle valve doesn't want to thread nicely into the burner and I don't neat to risk messing up the threads, and having a propane leak. I ordered a new burner from Bayou Classic.

Once I'm done welding I'll get the whole thing sand blasted and high temp powder coat the outside or high temp paint, maybe.

Get er done!!! There be fajitas that need a cooking!

Mine has to be fully functional no later than September. I host a wood boat gathering here and every year I host a potluck one night. Each year we have done different things. One year I smoked 8 whole chickens. Next year a friend brought a portable assemble onsite brick pizza oven, yeah that's right pizza in the forest! Last year I cooked several Chuck roasts in the cream can cooker. For this years event we are doing stir fry in the woods. We will have two discadas running and it will be like Mongolian grill. Bring your stuff we'll stir fry it and put it in your bowl! Should be a blast!

                  Nice!

I started mine but have put it on hold due to time constraints as well. I have a plan to finish it, but just haven't found the time. Maybe I can use your post as motivation... Here is my start

Nice! Get that thing done and let's start cooking! My new burner arrives tomorrow so I'll be able to finish up the fabrication. Then it's time to fire it up and burn some paint off the tire rim. I probably will take it to the sand blast shop though too.
