  • In need of new fire box

Hey everyone how's it going! New to the site and this is my first post. I have a New Braunfels Smoker model # 03207225. My Firebox is all rusted out on the bottom and has holes. I am trying to figure out how to order a new Firefox that I can bolt or weld on to make this baby like New again. Please anyone! I don't know where to look!!

I cant help you much but welcome to Smoked-Meat...
The NB will be a good cooker for ya when you get it fixed up...
Might be easiest to let someone fab you a firebox and weld it in place...
    Good luck and

Welcome to Smoked-Meat. What about having a “drop in” bottom made that tacks inside? Umm with a couple drain holes BTW...

Looks like you are out of luck.. That firebox is obsolete... You could buy a
Char-Griller Multi Function 250-sq in Portable Charcoal Grill from Lowes and have it mounted on backwards.. They are the same smoker but the flow on yours is left to right and CG is right to left..

The bolt pattern should be the same, take yours off and get some cardboard and copy the pattern and check at the store to be sure..

But if it were me I would not drop 70 bones on the firebox, I would take that and invest in a better smoker.. Just sayin'... Who knows when they will stop making these firebox's ...

Indeed...I burnt through more than one CG firebox in my years...
Also they weren't quite big enough for a great fire...
I still think a fab co could build a box that would meat your needs...

And looking at the picture of the smoker it does look alot like the CG smoker in reverse...

ok, how bad do you want to save this one.

my first idea would be to find some one to fabricate a new bottom and weld it into place.

my second idea is a tad out there. Is to line the bottom with fire brick grout? I must be out of my mind

Hmm..I neglected to actually look up this model.... I was thinking it might be a real NB from a while back. I agree with Ken here. You COULD bolt a plate over the firebox hole- get a coal grate and use as a grill till THAT bottom falls out...

Seems like a logical excuse to go buy a new smoker!! I would recommend something really expensive, more than you need, takes up too much room, and perhaps need a truck to move it.

It worked for me although my marriage was at issue for a while when I brought it home.

Yes, New Braunfels smoker TM. name is now owned by Char-Broil.. Yes they still make them but differently.. They now have the Hondo and the bolt pattern is not the same.. Feel free to contact them to see if they could help.. 1-800-241-7548

I also attached the Hondo .pdf..

How hard would it be if I ordered the Hondo Firebox. Then just put dots on my grill where I need to drill and then just Bolt that sumbitch on there ??

I dunno. Can you operated a drill? Jig saw? then your exhaust is at the wrong end...

Its not hard to call CB and ask if they sell the firebox.. The hard part IMO, is dropping (I guarantee you) 100 bones plus and bolting it on a smoker that has seen better days..

Check out Craigslist, you can find some damn good deals there.. I would post some links to great smoker deals but you show to be in the central Texas area but your IP shows to be in DFW.. So I'm really not sure where you are at..
