  • New to the group ..

    Checking in from Lake Gaston Va .. instead of buying a smoker I went ahead and built one on a bet .. works like a champ and I use it weekly .. next up will be the monster build ..

          I use them to get the fire started then I switch over to wood .. I'll be sometime in the future adding a propane starter for the firebox

              Yeah I was a little worried there...Adding them (unlit) to the bed of coals could screw up the best cooked meat

                      Great looking rig!

                      from New Jersey.
                      Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
                      My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.

                        filing cabinet smoker !
                        Got any build pics ?
                        Thought about one of those a few years back.

                        It's about the only hunk of metal you can get cheap that - probably - doesn't involve welding to turn into a smoker.

                        So please tell more

                            A couple of the pictures I could find .. it was a simple project that turned into what else would improve it a little .. I have learned a lot with this one on what not to do or where to place things haha .. any questions I can help with I will
