  • Just Add... Turkey?

So I have a family thing this weekend... and a couple of ‘em don’t eat meat.

OK..OK..whatever. They eat poultry. Which I consider meat but anyway.. got some ground turkey I’ll grill up with the burgers I’m gonna do. Went looking online for turkey burger recipes and kept seeing a recurring spice theme... pretty similar to the JAB seasoning really. Soo, gave it a run.

Not bad a’tall! Texture’s off of course, it’s more like an emulsified patty... but the flavor’s actually not bad! Some additional onion and salt..and I’d even eat one. After a real burger. IF I was still hungry. And someone dared me

Soo anyway..for those of you caught in this kinda trap..or maybe just wanna try something a bit easier on the body and not torture on the tongue... give it a run.

yeah I hear ya, I'm not a huge fan of ground turkey in anything, just something about it is a turn off for me. IF I absolutely have to have it, I usually add some yellow curry powder, makes it taste not horrible, but the texture is still off. For me anyway.

Personally, I am not a turkey lover, especially ground up. If'n yer gonna grind poultry, I'd go with chicken.

How about some boneless breasts? Square them off and slice in half, brine them so there not so dry. Could make burnt ends with the leftover pieces. Just a thought.

a little panko will help with the texture. and bacon bits. mix it the night before and they can help absorb the weird greasy stuff in the meat. and ranch dressing (ha ha ha)

I would recommend some melted cheese but I understand you already have that mastered...

The Panko ..yeah I was thinking maybe some bread crumbs..but the larger panko would be a better call... I have a couple more “practice patties” here to cook for wife. Will try that. Tanks!

Good one on the melted cheese mastery!

Home ground turkey breast with just one coarse grind may help with the mush... Not fond of ground turkey but it beats tofu.
