  • Surf and Turf on July 4th......

Had some time on my hands on the 4th and I asked the kids what they wanted. One said ribs, the other said shrimp kabobs. Well, that's what we did.

As you may know, I prefer to stack each skewer with the same food and grill them according to when they will be done. So, we has some shrimp that I used a spicy rub on, some sweet onions, bell peppers, and some mushrooms. Here's the platter all cooked up as we just do it buffet style.

Now, the turf part. I got a rack of BBs and used some HAW on them. I used a BBQ sauce called Devil's Spit and some jalapenos. I don't remember who did the jalapeno thing, so my apologies for not mentioning you. It did look so good, I had to try it though. Smoked them with cherry wood at 230° 2.5/1.5/1. It works great for us as the meat is firm and just enough pull to easily clean up the bones.

    The home stretch:

And Dinner. The kids enjoyed it as did the adults.

    Thanks for looking.
