  • Portabella and quail egg pizza

Loosely followed a recipe from Robert Irvine...

Shrooms cooked with garlic in clarified butter...
    Puff pastry crust...
    Topped with a quail egg

Wow...I couldn't stop eating these things...
All I can say is thank you Ryan

    And thanks for looking...

looks like eggs are cooked perfect! You definitely don't want to turn your back on them. Now, settle something between the wife and I. She won't eat them, claims they are different than a chicken egg. I think taste is very similar with a bit more richness to them and bite size.

Talk about over the top, damn man, you rock.

My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.

                          Outstanding cook

I haven't had quail or duck eggs in over 30 years, if memory serves me right the quail eggs tasted a little richer and my GrandMa swore by duck eggs for baking.

I found out that a guy from the gun club I belong to that raises quail and sells the eggs for $2 a dozen. Is that a good price???

Ryan can probably answer that better than I...

I get $3 a dozen or $5 for 2 dozen. It really varies by region. I see someone 2 hours north of me advertising for $6 a dozen.
