  • 2010 Winter thaw out & Practice cook off

This is the third year for this event.
I have really enjoyed the fun and fellowship of the previous 2 yrs. If you are a Competition Q chef, or just starting out, you'll have a good time here. It's a great way to shake off the winter cob webs and get ready for the Qing season.

    Great Lakes BBQ Association
    Is Proud to Announce the
    Third Annual

    April 23 & 24

compete with meats you can cook on Saturday. In any event, we will have
judging on Saturday at the traditional turn in times and cash awards and
prizes in all four categories, not to mention “Bragging Rights”!! Judging will
conform to KCBS style rules even though it is an unsanctioned event. Prize
money will be based upon the number of people that enter:
Raffles will also be held for some great prizes!!!!

A great big thank you to Eagle Park for their
    fantastic facilities!
The park will open on Friday afternoon and is equipped with restrooms,
water (please bring your own water container), and trash receptacles. The
park has requested all ash disposal be deposited in the concrete pit enclosure
adjacent to the reception hall. Ash cans will not be provided. Electricity is
limited and is available on a first come/first served basis. The park is lighted.

Hope to see some of our Michigan/Ohio/Indiana members participate!

There is not allot of money to be made , But we have a great time, a friday night pot-luck dinner, and a whole bunch of fun and laughs.

If you are wondering what goes into comp cooking, or want to get your feet wet. This is a great inexpensive way to try it out.
