  • Wow, so this is where folks are hanging out nowadays

I posted this as a reply to another post, but figured I may as well do things the right way before an admin gives me a hint.

I felt i was walking into the old neighbor hood bar and no one was home.

I kept check to see what folks thought about my memorial day trifecta, but nothing from anyone.

Let me tell you it is not a good feeling when you take qview to prove yourself and are looking for all the comments from "your pals", and no one even looks..

We'll it looks like i need to go copy some of my past stuff and get my sig and avatar in order.

    Boy I feel better already.

I guess I should really introduce myself.

I have been smoking for about a year or so in my home built hybrid propane/electric with a homemade smoke generator

I have been making sausage for around five years or so.

Love Beer, Harleys, Deer hunting and old trucks. Currently working on a 1952 Mack A20 tow truck.

I enjoy building things, sometimes its really not cost effective, but its something I enjoy.

Oh yea one last thing, GO HAWKS!!!

You could post it on up here, I'd definitely love to take a look especially if there are no pop up ads...

Thought about doing an electric and propane smoker cause that's an awesome idea. Would love to see some pics of your build if you have any...

              My Hybrid

I will post some pictures of my first build, its a pretty basic insulated stainless box that I use a propane burner in for anything I am doing above 200 and i have a electric element and a PID controller that I use for sausage and stuff.

My smoke generator is a knock off of one that is sold online, I made mine out of a aluminum drive shaft, made a few modifications to better suite my needs.

You generally don't see the phrases "pretty basic" and "PID controller" together in the same sentence.

Sounds like it's pretty cool and it also sounds like you're being modest.

Post up some pics and tell us about the build.
