  • hello from Wisconsin

I have in my hands a 500gal fuel oil tank. I am looking for ideas on turning this into a pig cooker. I am making this so I can have a pig roast on my daughters high school graduation. the tanks is a pig round tank I plan on mounting on a trailer. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

    thanks,
    Big Dave

Welcome aboard Big Dave.... Glad you found us.. Be sure to do a real good burn in that pit once you get her cut open... You would not want any of the chemicals and such from the fuel oil to remain in the pores of the metal.. Makes for some nasty food..

I will post more on the pig roaster when I get home this afternoon.. Unless someone else beats me to it..

          Hey welcome aboard!
Be careful with that fuel tank. Been a lot of people blowed up cutting into those. Send me a PM(private message) If you want any safety pointers. As for design ideas, go through the Homemade smokers forum and you'll get a bunch of ideas. My 500 gal tank is in there but I don't think it's what you are looking for. I could probably get a small pig in it(70-100lbs) Good luck and take lots of pictures as you go, we love to see that stuff.
